Mulato Libre Ancestors

I recently discovered mulato ancestry from my grandfather, Jesus Maria Pineda. His parents were Nicanor Pinedo and Emilia Gonzalez. Specifically, one of my great-grandmother's (Emilia Gonzales) great-grandmothers was a "Mulata Libre" according to her records.

Generation 1. EMILIA GONZALEZ, daughter of Juan Gonzalez and Dolores Arteaga, was baptized 04/10/1894 in Atolinga, Zacatecas (baptism). She married NICANOR PINEDO, son of Pedro Pinedo and Pioquinta Cardoza, on 07/02/1914 in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas (informacion matrimonial)

Generation 2. JUAN GONZALEZ, son of Jose Maria Gonzalez and Luisa Carrillo, was baptized 02/14/1859 in Atolinga, Zacatecas (baptism). He married DOLORES ARTEAGA on 12/10/1885 in Atolinga, Zacatecas (information matrimonial).

Generation 3. JOSE MARIA GONZALEZ, son of Clemente Gonzalez and Anselma Figueroa, married LUISA CARRILLO, daughter of Caytano Carrillo and Tomasa Villegas, on 04/05/1837 in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas (matrimonio)

Generation 4. CLEMENTE GONZALEZ, son of Juan Maria Gonzalez and Manuela Arteaga, married ANSELMA FIGUEROA, daughter of Jose Figueroa and Juana Palacios, on 12/07/1807 in Atolinga, Zacatecas (matrimonio).

Generation 5. JOSE DE FIGUEROA, son of Alexo de Figueroa and Casilda Magallanes, married JUANA PALACIOS, daughter of Lucas Palacios and Theresa Juliana, on 07/28/1777 in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas (matrimonio). According to their marriage record, both were "mulatos libres." Their daughter, Anselma Figueroa, was presumably light-skinned because she is called an "espanola" at the time she married Clemente Gonzalez in 1807.
